Praised for its lyricism and for the originality of its folk-accented aesthetic, AWAKE, the emblematic group of the resurgence of the French jazz scene, returns with “Aubes et Crépuscules” (Dawns and Twilights). At the edge of the dream world and reality, this third album navigates its sensitive path through the unsettling glow of half-light, favorable for enchantment and dazzlement. On some of the tracks the singers Anne Sila and Bastien Picot are integrated into the light world of AWAKE, the special timbres of their voices overlapping organically with the multiple instrumental voicings, in a series of melodies that tell us stories... With an album cover signed by the photographer Paul Rousteau, a master of color and of rendering visible the invisible, AWAKE transforms jazz into a waking dream.

Loué pour son lyrisme assumé et l’originalité de son esthétique teintée de folk, AWAKE, le groupe emblématique du renouveau de la scène du jazz hexagonal, revient avec « Aubes et Crépuscules ». Aux lisières du monde du rêve et de la réalité, ce troisième album se fraye avec sensibilité un chemin dans les lumières troublantes du demi-jour, propices à la féérie et au merveilleux. À l’univers onirique d’AWAKE viennent pour l’occasion s’intégrer les voix d’Anne Sila et Bastien Picot, dont les timbres se superposent naturellement aux multiples voix instrumentales, en une série de mélodies qui se font récits… Sous une pochette signée par le photographe Paul Rousteau, maître de la couleur et révélateur de l’invisible, AWAKE transforme le jazz en rêve éveillé.
