She wasn't doing anything like the others, and especially not fitting into any box. This is why Sarah Lenka sings Bessie Smith. Singing in a folk-blues style tinted with jazz and in a fully acoustic setting, Sarah Lenka without a doubt restitues all the depth of the Queen of Blues.
With her unsettling tone of voice and her feline sensibility, she revisites these songs that seem to be written for her, between a cheeky spirit and and deceptive love stories, these songs stay with her.
